Created to help (A wife's encouragement)
A woman was created by God for man to be his helper. The significance of being created from the rib cage is often overlooked but holds such a tremendous weight. A rib cage serves as an armor to protect the heart and lungs from damage, assists in respiration and provides support and stability of the upper body. A woman’s job as helper to her husband is to offer protection for his heart like an armor, help him breathe easier and provide stability so he can stand tall. All too often and without knowing we aren’t living our role as God intended and leaving them vulnerable for attacks. We are created as helper to complete their armor, to protect, assist and provide for their most vital organs their heart their lungs and their head. We are entrusted by the Creator to play a vital and necessary role in their headship of our walk with Christ, without our stability and purpose their upper body is weakened, their breathing is labored and their hearts are left vulnerable. The role of a godly wife is that of strength, support, protection, providing peace in times of heavy breathing, being mindful with his heart needs and building him up to stand tall as the head of our family in preparation to stand before God. Proverbs 14:1 says “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” We build our house if we are wise and we pull it down with our hands in foolishness. In wisdom and discipline our husbands, family and home will prosper. There will be fruit visibly produced of our labor (Colossians 1:10 ESV
So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;)
Lacking wisdom and God’s purpose for us as wives creates foolishness. Foolishness in the Bible refers to someone refusing to learn from wisdom and discipline failing to fear God or respect rules and returning to our folly like a dog returns to his vomit. Graphically stating our repeating of sinful behaviors that are tearing down our house in our rejection of God’s wisdom. 1 Peter 3 describes a wife whose Christ- changed life of respect and pure conduct (wisdom) holds the power to win her husband back to Christ without using words! A wife’s role was created by God to bring her husband good with her wisdom, to build and keep her house and serve her husband as protector assistance and stability in his headship. Let us walk in wisdom according to God’s created purpose in boldness!
